All Saint Day - Remembering Loved Ones (Video)
Sunday Nov 01, 2020
Sunday Nov 01, 2020
This is a video message by Pastor Reid Matthias.
Why is light given to one burdened with grief, and life to those whose existence is bitter… why is life given to a person whose path is hidden, whom God has hedged in? ~Job 3:20,23
It’s been a trying year.
For many, we’ve tried to make it through the struggles and managing fear, doubt, stress and anxiety associated with the global pandemic. We’ve tried to understand what has happened and what is going on. Perhaps all of us have asked the question… Why?

Confirming Transformation (Video, 10:30am)
Tuesday Oct 27, 2020
Tuesday Oct 27, 2020
This audio message is number 8 in the series "Counter Cultural Keys of God's Kingdom", given by Pastor Reid Matthis and a special guest at the 10:30am Confirmation service service on 25 Oct 2020.
We live in a world that is allergic to sacrifice. Saving for a rainy day is an Olympic sport. Taking the smaller portion is anathema to us. In the book of Romans, though, Paul writes to a group of people who need to be introduced to a strange pattern not of the world: living sacrifice.
This is ridiculous. All sacrifices are intended as the death of one thing for the life and betterment of another. For the Romans and many religions, animals were ritualistically sacrificed on altars – their lives offered up for the atonement of sins to appease the ‘gods.’ Now, Paul pulls the rug out from the substitutional model of sacrifice to a living model of service.
Read Romans 12:1-8 and pray for God’s transformation in your life so that you recognise your walking, sacrificial living.

More Than Just Paying Taxes (Audio)

Sunday Oct 18, 2020
This audio message is number 7 in the series "Counter Cultural Keys of God's Kingdom", given by Pastor Rolly Stahl.
They say there are two certainties of life? Death and taxes.
I wonder, what are your thoughts and feelings about paying taxes? Please be honest!
Times may have changed, but human hearts haven’t. Most Aussies expect the government to provide services, build roads, keep everyone safe, look after battlers, improve the health system, bring the nation through this COVID crisis, provide jobs and restore prosperity to everyone.
But we still hate paying taxes! Go figure!
Now imagine...

This is message 6 in the series "Counter Cultural Keys of God's Kingdom", given by Pastor Reid Matthias.
The third parable in a series directed to the religious elite of Israel is one so outrageous that it seems as if it could be summarily dismissed. It’s one thing to resist working in the vineyards, but to reject an invitation to the king’s wedding banquet? Unbelievable. In a moving allegory, Jesus connects with the religious leaders through the wedding story, but then at the end of his story, perhaps two parables put into one, even those who were invited later must wear the appropriate clothing for the feast.
In this parable, we are left to wonder what, exactly, is the correct wedding outfit? What does God want us to wear in order to experience the Kingdom of heaven?
Read Matthew 22:1-14 in preparation for our Sunday thoughts on The Keys to Fashion.

Imagine you are renting out a property to some family friends you’ve known for years. It starts off well. But after a few months, there is a missed payment for the fortnightly rent. What do you do with that?
