A Trinity of Connection (Audio)
Sunday Oct 06, 2024
Sunday Oct 06, 2024
A message from Pastor Stephen Abraham.
If you’ve gone to a church or school of any of the mainline Christian denominations you’ve heard these words at the start of every worship service: “In the Name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit, Amen.” What goes through your head at that moment? Maybe you switch off because it feels like an empty ritual. This Sunday I want to unpack why this “Trinity-thing” is absolutely mind-blowing and how it will change the way you think about God’s interaction with you on a personal level.

Dare To Be On A Different Journey (Audio)

Sunday Sep 29, 2024
In our lives, there are many different types of journeys we can choose to take—we can go on a journey to visit family, go to work, go on holiday, go shopping, go to worship with the church—we can journey to different places and different countries. There are as many kinds of journeys as there are reasons for taking a journey, but most journeys have two things in common: they have a purpose and they have a destination—and with these two things in mind, I want you to think about your journey as a follower of Jesus. Some of my greatest journeys have involved taking a journey with God (Father, Jesus and Holy Spirit)—what about you? And the journey I take as a follower of Jesus has less to do with where I live or where I physically travel. In fact, my journey as a follower of Jesus has everything to do with who He is and who I am in Him—which means I’m called to be on a very different journey in my life—what about you? And this being on a different journey may even seem weird! I’m looking forward to explore this with you and with Holy Spirit in greater detail when we dwell in the word in Mark 9:38-50.

Going with the flow (Audio)

A century ago, to be a true Christian was to be heroic, as Jesus was heroic.
As Sydney Carton, the anti-hero of Charles Dickens', A Tale of two Cities, was heroic!
In the book, Miracle on the River Kwai by Ernest Gordon, the author, recounts how the prisoners of war found the strength to make life easier for the prisoners who were worse off and deeper into despair than themselves. How they helped the more physically incapacitated to survive. How they organized church services to spread hope, how they scrounged books to start a lending library; and that copies of the New Testament were the most in-demand. Men under extreme stress in the midst of a foreign jungle, came across Jesus, discovered the Spirit of Christ and found the strength to be heroic.
As Henry Lawson wrote, "The Spirit of Christ is everywhere where the heart of a man can dwell!"
Going with the flow starts with finding out more about Jesus and joining in with what His Spirit is doing.

The cross of Jesus is the pivotal point in human history. Jesus’ death and resurrection redefine everything and everyone, including you. You become God’s temple, a dwelling place of Holy Spirit himself. That means you have the awesome privilege of carrying the good things of God to others, simply by being who you are in Christ.
