Over the last 12 months, we’ve witnessed a series of trials and tragedies: droughts, fires, and floods have ravaged large sections of our countr, COVID 19 – taking human lives all over the world, and impacting the economies of nations, the Black Lives Matter movement, where gross injustice has lit a fuse of unrest and international squabbles between superpowers.

 

These events have cast a shadow over our lives.

 

Jesus is watching out for us, and walking towards us to do us good.

Sowing and harvesting features in a bunch of Jesus’ parables about the kingdom of God. Last Sunday, we looked at Jesus’ Parable of the Sower.  We talked about God as the Gardener, and considered what sort of soil is a Welcome Place for Faith.  Today we look at Jesus’ Parable of the Wheat and the Weeds.  While this parable also talks of seeding and harvest time, Jesus is telling us different things about his kingdom.
